We went through Napa Valley in just one day. We selected two wineries for our quick trip. As I knew James Cole Winery from my last trip, I decided to bring my family there. It was even better than I remember !
First, my parents were ecstatic about the wine. Their favorite ? The Petit Verdot ! A delicious taste of berries and ground. But overall, every wine was heaven for our mouth.
But there is so much more than wine in the tasting room. I really and truly love it because it is a small vineyard business. The winemakers James and Colleen like to think about it as a second home for wine lover. And it feels this way.
Sitting on the patio with the warm weather and a delicious glass of wine in our hand, we talked about wine, vines and terroir with our host. This is how to always should be when visiting a vineyard.
Sadly for my wallet, prices are very high. I am still not use to spend 70 $ for a bottle of wine which is not a Gevrey-Chambertin or a Saint-Emilion. But I understand they have a small quantity of each wine.
